Point-Point Connections
Advantages/Disadvantages:
- Dedicated Bandwidth - 100% Committed Information Rate
- Lower cost over short distances (less than 10 miles to destination)
- Relatively Redundant - will not reroute if lines are cut between central offices
- Excellent Response and Repair Times
- Offered by many service providers
- Cannot support point to multi-point architectures
These connections are engineered with dedicated circuits through the
network from location to its destination. The entire circuits ports
through the network(s) are dedicated to your company and therefore deliver
the highest committed information rate (exactly what you order). These
circuits are priced base on distance from your location to CSolutions. They
are generally less expensive than frame-relay within about 10-15 miles of our
Internet Data Center. Outside of that distance they can become more
expensive. These circuits cannot be re-pointed to other circuits, they have
to be re-built in order the change their destination.
