Actiontec GT-701 Gateway Setup
Insert the Install Buddy CD that came with your Qwest Modem, the
setup application should start automatically. If not, please
navigate to your CD-ROM drive in My Computer and double-click
the installer icon to start the process. The auto-launch feature
usually doesn't work on Macs, so you'd just need to double-click
the ActionTec Installation Buddy icon on the CD.
The Installation Buddy looks nearly identical on Mac and PC.
Welcome Screen - Click Next

Choose Initial Setup, Click Next

Choose the appropriate option, Click Next

You will be shown a Rental Agreement or Warranty explanation
depending on if you rented or bought your Actiontec modem. Click
I Agree for the User-Agreement, then Click Next.

Select Ethernet for the connection type if you have an Ethernet
card in your computer. Select USB if you are connecting to the
gateway via USB. Click Next.

Click Next

NNow you will be walked through the hardware setup steps. These
steps are to insure you have plugged in you Actiontec in the
proper manner and have installed the necessary filters for
phones and security systems.
Click Next.

















If you want to plug a phone into the Actiontec to use near the
computer, choose Yes. Otherwise, No. Click Next/b>.

If you chose Yes, the next 2 screens provide additional information
on how to connect the phone:


Click Next

Click Next

Click Next

Choose Other ISP. CClick Next

Choose PPPoA. Click Next

Enter the CSolutions username and password. Click Next

Choose Dynamic IP (DHCP). Click Next/b>

Wait for the configuration to complete. Click Next

If something went wrong with the configuration or authentication
you'll see a warning like this one and then be taken back to the
Configuration Options:

If installation was a success the following page will appear:
Click Next

Continue clicking Next until you are able to Click Finish the
Installation. BBy default, the Actiontec will use NAT and DHCP to
dynamically share the IP assigned to the router. If you would like
to use more advanced features such as a firewall or port forwarding
you are free to do so using the Actiontec's web interface, but these
features are unsupported. To access the web interface, simply
enter the IP of the router into a web browser (192.168.0.1).
