Configuring Netscape

Open Netscape Navigator or Netscape Communicator.

Click on the Edit menu at the top of Netscape. This will open a menu of options. Click on Preferences, which will open a Preferences dialogue box.

Click on the + next to Mail & Newsgroups. Click on Identity. Enter the appropriate information in the appropriate location. Your Email address will typically be yourusername@csolutions.net.

Click on Mail Servers. Click on the Add button on the right side of the Incoming Mail Servers box. The Server Name is mail.csolutions.net. The Server Type is POP3 Server.

If you have an e-mail address on the csolutions.net domain, then your User Name is simply your userid. For example, if your e-mail address is frank@csolutions.net, then your User Nameis simply frank.

If you have an e-mail address on a domain that we are hosting for you, then your User Name is your entire e-mail address with the exception of the "@" symbol. Netscape will not work if you put the "@" symbol in your User Name. For example, if your e-mail address is tom@yourdomain, then your User Name is tom$yourdomain. Some versions won't work with the "$" symbol either, if that is the case with your version, try the "%", "#", or "*" symbol in place of the @ symbol.

You may also check the boxes to have Netscape remember your password and to check for mail every XX minutes.

Click OK.

You should now be back to the Mail Servers settings on the Preferences dialogue box. Under Outgoing Mail Server, enter mail.csolutions.net as the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server. Your Outgoing mail server user name should be identical to the User Name that you used for the Incoming Mail Server settings.

Under Use Secure Socket Layer(SSL), check the Never box.

Click OK.

Close Netscape and re-open it. You should now be able to receive and send email.
