Dial-Up Networking Connection in
Windows ME
Click on
Start, then Settings and then Dial Up Networking.
Click onto Make New Connection.
Type "CSolutions" as the name for the computer you are dialing.
Click Next.

Enter
the Telephone number you wish to connect to.
(Click
for Local Numbers)
Check
the Country code is United States of America.
Click Next.

Click
on Finish.

You will now have a CSolutions Dial-up networking connection.
Double click on the CSolutions icon and select properties.

Click
onto the the Networking tab.
Check
that the Type of Dial Up Server reads "PPP..."
Check
that only the following items are checked:
Enable
software compression
TCP/IP
If
anything else is checked then unchecked it.

Clicking on the TCP/IP Settings button should reveal that all
settings are server assigned.
Check that you have checks next to:
Use IP
Header Compression.
Use Default Gateway on Remote Networks.

Click
on OK then on OK again.
That should take us back to the Dial Up Networking window.
Double click on the CSolutions Icon and you'll see the Connect to
CSolutions window.
Click onto the the Networking tab.
Check that the Type of Dial Up Server reads "PPP..."
Check that only the following items are checked:
Enable software compression
TCP/IP
If
anything else is checked then uncheck it.

Clicking on the TCP/IP Settings button should reveal that all
settings are server assigned.
Check
that you have checks next to:
Use IP Header Compression.
Use Default Gateway on Remote Networks.

Click
on OK then on OK again.
That should take you back to the Dial Up Networking window.
Double
click onto the c Icon and you'll see the Connect to CSolutions
window.

Click onto Dial Properties.

Check
that the Country code reads United States of America.
Check the Area code is your local Area code.
If you have Call waiting and you don't want your PC to hang up your
Internet connection when someone calls you on the same line then,
Put a check next to, "To disable call waiting dial". On the same
line delete any numbers in the box and add in a *70,
If you dial a prefix for an outside line like a 1 or a 9 then add
that number to the box next to "For local calls, dial" with a comma
following it, which your modem will read as a 2 second pause.
Click OK
Cancel the Connect to CSolutions window for the time being.
Right click onto the CSolutions icon and then select "Create
Shortcut". You'll get a prompt asking you to make the shortcut on
the Desktop instead. Click Yes.

Close
the Dial Up Networking page.
That
should take you back to your Desktop screen and you should see a new
Shortcut called Shortcut to CSolutions. You can connect to
CSolutions by using that shortcut.
